From Wairoa, New Zealand, he is self taught on guitar, bass and drums. He picked up a guitar when 6 years old and played his first gig at age 10. Among others he played Bass with the Charlie Macgregor Big Band and for five years performed on lead guitar in NO EXIT.
Tami worked as a session musician on two country rock Albums - the first was with THE COLONIALS and then THE IAN TURBIT BAND. He was the bassist for MID NIGHT SPECIAL, a cabaret band, who backed top New Zealand country artists including Susan Prentise and Jenny Blackadder. From there Tami went on to play lead guitar, bass and drums for two country clubs.
Arriving in Australia in 2002, he was keen to continue gigging. Meeting like-minded musicians at a jam session he founded the rock band Wasted and played lead guitar and later bass. For five years Wasted had a large support base and played to audiences around Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Gladstone and Bundaberg. Tami was soon recruited for The Eagles Band where he contributes his musical versatility and brilliant harmony vocals.
His musical influences are Burl Ives, Chuck Berry,The Glen miller band,The Who, Doobie Brothers, Doors, Cars, E.L.O, EAGLES, Stevie, Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Palmer, Robert Cray, Herbs, Dave Dobyn, ACDC, Gary Moore, Gray Bartlett, Rory Gallagher, far too many to list.
